The Public Relations Society of Malawi (PRSM) has said it expects a significant promotion of excellence in public relations practice that will not only elevate the society’s profile, but also contribute to the country’s development during this year’s annual general conference.
The remarks by the PRSM President Benison Linje, come ahead of the Society’s annual general conference slated for 5th to 7th October this year at Makokola Retreat in Mangochi district.
Linje said this year’s conference will pose as a platform for deliberations on matters impacting the public relations industry and also address global concepts that enhance development in the field.
“We have realised there are a lot of hurdles associated with effective public relations practice in the country. This will therefore pose a solid foundation for rectifying such challenges,” Linje said.
He further said, “This year’s session will bring trending global issues on the table for deliberations which we believe will eventually uplift institutions’ welfare as well as country’s well-being “.
Under the theme “Complete Communicator” this year’s conference aims to create an environment conducive to fostering excellent skills that will further elevate the public relations industry in Malawi.
PRISM, a grouping of Public Relations and Communication practitioners from both public and private sectors in Malawi, was created to elevate the status of the public relations profession through development and enforcement of sustainable standards and ethics among practitioners in the country.
