Ministry of Health launches the 3rd Edition of Malawi Health Sector Strategic Plan

The Ministry of Health has on Thursday launched the 3rd Edition of Malawi Health Sector Strategic Plan (HSSP) which among others seeks to guide the Ministry’s way of delivering health care services in the country.

Speaking after the launch which took place at Crossroads hotel in Lilongwe, responsible Minister Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda says the strategy has been aligned to the country’s vision of 2063 which seeks to provide equal health services to every citizen.

Chiponda says the strategy also seeks to introduce digital methods of accessing health services unlike the use of health passports as well as establishment of health financing strategy, which will ensure that the sector addresses the issue of shortage of resources, which has been an overdue challenge.

According to Chiponda, the Health Sector Strategic Plan will run from January 2023 to December 2030.
