Football associations welcome their 2023 budgetary allocations

The Malawi Schools Sports Association (MASSA) and the Football Players Association of Malawi (FPA) have welcomed their respective budgetary allocations which Football Association of Malawi (FAM) President Walter Nyamilandu Manda has announced in Blantyre Thursday.

Nyamilandu at a press briefing at FAM’s headquarters in Blantyre, where he announced a Series of allocations to different sectors, said they will rejuvenate the Football for Schools (F4S) program as well as continue supporting medical aid for football players.

Reacting to FAM President Walter Nyamilandu’s pledge that FAM will continue with the medical aid valued at 34-million-kwacha, General Secretary for Football Players Association Ernest Mangani, has applauded the local soccer governing body for the gesture.

Mangani argues players have long suffered, as such, authorities and different stakeholders need to devise initiatives for the benefit of football players in the country.

President of the Malawi Schools Sports Association (MASSA) Gladson Malamura, has commended FAM for recognizing the role which they are playing in developing football at grass root level.

Malamura has since asked FAM to consider enhancing football equipment particularly grounds in the next phase of the program.

FAM has increased its 2023 development budget to 5 billion Kwacha from 3.7 billion Kwacha in 2022.
