Moyale wants matches played same days as relegation battle hots up

By Nothvinia Sam Luhanga:
As the battle for relegation rages on in the TNM Super League, Mzuzu based giants Moyale Barracks have written the Super League of Malawi (SULOM) protesting the way final matches have been arranged.
A strongly worded letter issued by the team’s General Secretary 2/Lieutenant Masamba demands SULOM to re-schedule all matches so they are played on the same days particularly for those locked in the relegation battle.
Specifically, Moyale is unhappy that the league body has scheduled its match against Mafco and that between Civo and Bangwe All Stars on different days.
“We therefore demand that the fixture/matches be played on the same day and kickoff at the same time in both of the remaining matches”, reads part of the letter.

“We demand equal footing in the matches. We do not have to play under protest just for the sake of it”, adds the letter.
Moyale has further warned that any failure to revise the matches, it will be construed as SULOM is promoting match fixing.
It has since urged the league body to walk the talk in preventing any potential acts of match fixing and not play a blind eye due to unsporting interests.
“It is an open secret that failure by the league to revise this schedule will only lead to the conclusion that SULOM is favoring other teams in the relegation fight and wishes to promote match fixing,” warns the letter.
SULOM has yet to respond to the Lions of Kaning’ina requests and have not commented yet to Umunthu FM’s enquiries on the matter.
According to this week’s fixture as released by SULOM, Moyale will play Mafco Wednesday next week whereas Civo will face Bangwe All Stars Saturday next week as well.
