Wolves men and ladies have won the K10 Million 2023 Raiply National Volleyball league in Mzuzu, following their victories over Kamuzu Barracks and Vixens in the finals on Sunday respectively.
The four-day annual tournament which started Friday, drew a total of 24 teams from the central, Southern and Northern regions in both men and ladies’ categories, and was played at the Katoto and Rosedale courts respectively in evergreen city.
Wolves ladies who went to the tournaments as heavy favorites having won the 2022 edition, successfully defended the championship after beating Vixens by three sets to 0ne whereas their male counterparts walked easily over Kamuzu Barracks by three sets to zero.
For their feat, both teams walked away with K1250, 000 whereas the runners and third placed teams in both categories as well got K600, 000 and K300, 000 respectively.
The tournament is sponsored by Raiply Malawi Limited whose managing director Krishna Das has hinted of increasing the sponsorship package in the 2024 edition
